About

Your experience, taken seriously.

Hello, I'm Carly.

You won't have to explain yourself from scratch. I particularly welcome people who have felt unseen, misunderstood or judged because of who they are, including people who are racially marginalised, LGBTQ+ or neurodivergent.

You'll be met steadily. I'll stay with whatever you bring, calmly and honestly, even when it gets difficult.

You stay in charge. You're the expert on your own life. My role is to help you unpack what you need, so you can get clearer about what you want and how to get there.

How I work

I work pluralistically, drawing on different approaches depending on what suits you. We'll decide together what would help, and check in regularly on whether it is. Everyone thinks and communicates differently, so I'll adapt to you: tell me what helps, whether that's getting straight to the point, taking a pause, or moving around while we talk.

Sessions last 50 minutes. We start wherever you'd like, go at your pace, and leave time at the end to slow down. You stay in control of what you share, and when.

What people bring

People come to counselling with all sorts of things: anxiety, grief, burnout, painful experiences, questions about who they are, or something that doesn't have a name yet. Underneath, it's usually some form of distress. Counselling is a place to work through it, at a pace that suits you.

The details

My practice is anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming and neurodivergent-affirming, and welcoming of people from every background.

I'm ethically committed to my practice and meet regularly with my clinical supervisor. Anything I bring to supervision is anonymised, so you can't be identified. I also hold professional insurance for my practice.
