1 · What I can offer

What I can offer depends on what you want from therapy.

That might be working through something traumatic, or a life event that has deeply affected you. It might be finding more contentment in your life, or ways to feel connected again. It might be rediscovering parts of yourself that have got lost along the way, or noticing parts of your character you've always taken as given.

Through conversation, and practical tools where they help, we work it out together. What tends to come out of it is a better understanding of yourself, and with it, more confidence. Then life moves on to the next thing, and we do it all over again.

I won't make you soft promises. Here's what therapy can actually be:

  • Therapy can be hard.
  • Therapy can be transformative.
  • Therapy can be slow, or fast.
  • Therapy can be fixed, or open-ended.

2 · What guides my work

How I’ll be with you.

Your context matters. Where you come from, your culture, your identity, the world you grew up in and what you did or didn't have: it all shapes how you see things, and all of it is welcome here.

No question is a stupid question. Nothing is too small, too silly or too idle to explore.

You're the expert on your own life. My role is to help you unpack what you need, so you can get clearer about what you want and how to get there.

3 · How I practise

Pluralistic, and decided together.

There's no single method I apply to everyone. I draw on different ways of working depending on what suits you, and we keep checking together whether it's helping. If something isn't working, we change it.

Research consistently finds that the relationship between you and your counsellor is one of the strongest predictors of whether counselling helps. That's why the first step is a conversation.
